| After this songs' composer (Cat Stevens) spoke out against the U.S., in particular the governments actions against certain evil countries that just so happened to be Muslim, 10,000 Maniacs swore they would never sing this song again. Cat Stevens has since said that the media distorted his comments. I was upset myself, and replay the whole hubbub in my head, blocking out the song whenever I hear it. |
