I recently 'discovered' glassjaw while browsing through some random site about a month ago and I instantly fell in love. The emotion conveyed through Darryl's voice in each and every song is absolutely outstanding. The screaming completely blows me away every time I listen to the CD.

Every track on this CD is incredible. However, one track that sticks out to me is 'Pretty Lush'. The utter hatred in lyrics like "You can lead a whore to water and you can bet she'll drink and follow orders" is so real and uncensored. My favorite lyric is this song would have to be "Tonight I'm going to a party, but its already started without me".

But, the best song on this CD, which also happens to be one of my favorite songs of all time is "Secret Song". It's much slower than the rest on the CD. The lyrics are so powerful and the emotion is just so raw, there's a point in the song where it sounds as if Darryl's voice cracks, like he's on the verge of tears. The lyrics are simply beautiful and absolutely heart wrenching. It's sort of interesting because the entire CD is filled with hate and disgust for this person, whom I'm guessing must have cheated or something along those lines, and this last song is almost like a somber apology to her, or at least an admittance of the fact that he really did love her and just displaying how hurt he is. This is especially apparent at the end of the song when he says, "This is my chance to tell you everything.
My chance to tell you I love you, but I've waited to long,
And now the record's over" Words can't even begin to describe the beauty of this song.

Anyway, moving on with the review, this CD is full of anger, loathing, and pure hatred, and yet, I have to say it's a compilation of one of the most beautifully expressive songs you'll ever hear. Outrageously amazing stuff, 5/5
