Up until August of 2003, I had never heard of Finch. Then Eric (eMRraLdwPn) made me download all the songs and listen to them and nothing else. Needless to say, I was very impressed and the Finch CD is on every MP3 CD I have made since becoming aware of them.
I'll do a song-by-song review of what I think of each of them.
New Beginnings - Good start to the CD. Gets you pumped for whats to come. 5/5
Letter To You - Good song, pretty catchy. Kinda sounds poppy 5/5
Post Script - As with about all their songs, has a good guitar intro. Kinda shallow in the lyrics
department, but still rocks. 4/5
Grey Matter - Another amazing songs, I'm running out of things to say about them. Don't let the screaming at the beginning throw you off, this song has meaning. 5/5
Perfection Through Silence - Great guitar intro. Again, not many words to the song, but the vibe you get during listening to it is great. 5/5
Awake - More of a mellow song, but another winner! 4/5
Without You Here - One of my favorites... Mellow, not much screaming, catchy chorus... It shows a whole new side to Finch 5/5
Stay With Me - Great upbeat song with cool lead guitar. Shows a sensitive side. Very catchy. 5/5
Project Mayhem- I don't think it fits, and I've not particular fond of excessive screaming...3/5
Untitled - Upbeat hardcore song with mellow breakdown and an ending filled with screaming. This song shows every aspect of Finch we have seen... Just an amazing song..."It's sharpening" 6/5
Three Simple Words - Another favorite. What can I say? "With my hands around your neck, who will stop me now??" 7/5
Ender - Slow song, quite enjoyable...for the first 5 minutes... Then it fades into noises and stuff, for 8 and a half minutes! I always have to skip it b/c I want to get to the next song... 3/5
What It Is to Burn - Slow start, then kicks into high gear. I think this and Three Simple Words are my favorite songs. Great ending to an amzing CD. 7/5
CD: 64/65 As near perfect as you can get!
If you haven't heard Finch yet, you should. I don't care what music you think your into, give this CD a spin. |
